DUBLIN: Ha'penny Bridge

DUBLIN: Ha'penny Bridge

from £273.00

The Ha’penny Bridge is a pedestrian bridge that crosses the River Liffey. It was designed by John Windsor and opened in 1816. So named as it cost half a penny to cross the bridge, the cost of the ferry which it replaced.

Without a doubt one of my favourite images due to its lighting and symmetry. I do enjoy photographing bridges namely because the water they span lends itself to long exposures. However, there is no water in this image but the structure appealed very much to me. Photographed in 2014.
