St Paul’s Cathedral is a world landmark, recognised by its distinctive dome. It was designed by Sir Christopher Wren after the Great Fire of London in 1666, and completed in 1710 after 35 years of construction. The Millennium Bridge is a footbridge designed and constructed by Arup Group, Foster and Partners and Sir Anthony Caro. Opened in 2000 as part of the Millennium celebrations, it was closed shortly afterwards due to vibrations causing the bridge to ‘wobble’. The bridge was modified and reopened in 2002.

One of the most photographed views in London. I admit I have attempted this photograph nearly every year since 2004, but I believe this to be my favourite, taken early one morning in September 2019 before river traffic disturbed the river too much.
